On September 28, 2024, Tianjin University Alumni Association of Southern California successfully held its annual conference at the US Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles, California. Dozens of alumni, alumni family members and sponsors from all walks of life gathered together to celebrate the alma mater's 129th birthday since its founding in 1895. This annual conference is not only a grand event for alumni to share their friendship, but also an opportunity to send best wishes for the upcoming anniversary of the alma mater on October 2. What is particularly touching is that Senior Sister Tao Jiabao, who majored in electrochemistry at Tianjin University in 1956, Senior Sister Zhao Zhiying, who majored in Civil Engineering and Architecture in 1960, and Senior Brother Chen Dingsheng, who majored in Polymer Chemistry in 1962, also came to the conference. Their attendance adds to endless glamour and profound meaning.
The conference was presided by Mr. Shanghao Li, TJUAASC's Board Chairman, while the President, Hong (Cindy) Lu, summarized the work products of the past year, and specifically introduced the 518 seminar and our official website's key features. They encourage the alumni to keep doing excellent work and build a even stronger association to attract members' attendance of the future conferences in Los Angeles from all over the world.
